05/01/2019- A lengthy prison sentence has been handed down for a Crystal Falls, Michigan man convicted of attempted homicide in Marinette County. 23-year-old Troy Evert Jr has been ordered to serve 20 years initial confinement followed by ten years of extended supervision for trying to hire someone to kill a Niagara man in December of 2017 who threatened to go to police about an alleged arson Evert was involved in. That sentence will run consecutive to the 25-month to 20-year sentence he received in Iron County, Michigan for the arson.
