City Opens Bids for REC Center Replacement Work
07/27/2018- The City of Marinette now has a better idea of what it might cost to have the improperly installed exterior paneling replaced at the new Community REC Center. City officials met Thursday to open bids from four contractors vying for the job and the low bid came from C&C Services at a cost of $937000. Other bids were as high as $1.4-million. Mayor Steve Genisot says the next step is to present the bid results to the full city council to allow them to decide how to move forward with the project.
Mayor Geniost didn’t have much to say on if or how the replacement work might impact the project’s overall construction budget.
The REC Center was originally expected to open in March. Mayor Genisot says the completion date has now been set for mid-December, but incentives are available for the selected contractor to complete the work early.
