09/04/2019- A 66 year old De Pere man is in custody following a high speed chase Tuesday. Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says his department received a report of a vehicle striking a fuel pump at the Shell Station in Crivitz. Authorities determined the vehicle had been stolen in Green Bay earlier in the day. Dispatch then received a report that the same vehicle and subject had pumped $61 dollars of fuel at the Krist Oil station in Wausaukee and left without paying. A Sheriff’s deputy then spotted the vehicle in the Town of Beecher, and attempted to stop it, but the subject took off at high speed. The chase went through Pembine and then west on Highway 8 until the vehicle went off the road and became stuck in mud. The driver fled on foot, but was spotted crossing an ATV trail and arrested. He was treated for facial scratches and lodged in the Marinette County Jail. The incident remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Department and the Green Bay Police Department as to charges.
