11/12/2018- The local Goodwill Industries is looking to expand their operation to provide more services to residents. The organization sought a Conditional Use Permit from the City of Marinette to transform the office building at 2100 Ella Court into an Education Training Center. Jim Borowski, President and CEO of Goodwill of Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan says while they already operate an industrial business on Pierce Ave in Marinette, they’re not able to provide the high level of training in life and vocational skills to their participants that they might be able to in a new facility.
Borowksi says the building on Ella Court would allow them to offer even more training options in their effort to provide residents with a bridge to independence and employment.
The property being pursued is the former Miron Law Office. Marinette’s Plan Commission unanimously approved Goodwill’s request to grant a Conditional Use Permit for the location.
