Jury Trial Set for Lavigne
The case against a Marinette man charged with his eighth drunk driving offense will go to trial next month. A pre-trial conference was held last week for 36-year-old Kristofer Lavigne. He was arrested in Marinette in January after a woman called the police stating there was a man she did not know knocking repeatedly on her back door. When police arrived, they found Lavigne, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, as well as the vehicle he was driving in the woman’s yard. Lavigne failed a field sobriety test and was later transported to Bay Area Medical Center for a blood draw. He has seven previous drunk driving convictions in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. His jury trial is scheduled for June 5th and 6th.
