Local Blood Drives Support Trauma Awareness Month

blood.png

05/06/2019- May is Trauma Awareness Month and the American Red Cross is hoping that will bring more people out to donate blood. A single car accident victim can use as many as 100 units of blood, so the agency needs regular donations to ensure blood products are available for patients when every second counts. You can do your part to stock local blood banks by attending one of several blood drives in our area this month. The first is being held at NWTC in Marinette tomorrow. Holy Family Parish in Marinette will host one on the 13th and 14th. There will also be a blood drive at Stephenson High School on May 15th. Individuals who are 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. For more information or to schedule an appointment at one of these upcoming blood drives, visit redcrossblood.org.
