Michigan DNR Warns of Fire Dangers
The fire danger remains elevated across much of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Firefighters with the state’s DNR say all areas west of a line from the Huron Mountains south to Stephenson are in a very high fire danger zone, which is expected to last until at least Saturday. Those conditions could continue depending on the significance of the rainfall forecasted for Saturday night. Residents are reminded to check whether or not burning is permitted before starting any outdoor fires by calling 866-922-BURN or visiting michigan.gov/burnpermit.
