Michigan Primary Election Results
08/08/2018- Yesterday’s Michigan Primary Election results are in. In the only local contested race, David Prestin defeated Peggy Schroud 255 votes to 106 for the Republican slot for the Menominee County Commissioner 6th District seat. Voters approved millage renewals for County Senior Services, Faithorn Township Fire, Spalding Township Fire, and Norway-Vulcan Schools. New millage requests for Holmes Township Fire, Holmes Township General Operations, and Stephenson Schools were also passed. Ed McBroom defeated Mike Carey in the Republican race for Michigan’s 38th Senate District.
In the statewide contested races, Gretchen Whitmer won the Democratic primary for Governor, while Bill Schuette secured the Republican spot and Bill Gelineau won the Libertarian ticket. John James beat Sandy Pensler for the Republican slot for U.S. Senate.
