New Hospital Works to get Online
It takes brick, mortar, and about 125 miles of network cable to build a new hospital. Bay Area Medical Center’s three-story facility is slated to open in about seven months, but IT crews are already on the job site working to ensure the August transition from the old hospital to the new is seamless. Telly Villas is a network engineer with Bay Area Medical Center.
One-thousand computers will need to be transported as part of the move. Villas says while the logistics of that process are a little more complicated, it’s something his team is prepared for.
The hospital’s main data center is expected to be built out in the next month. Bay Area Medical Center will open the doors to its new facility August 16th.
