New Provident Health Foundation Supports Local Health Initiatives

01/03/2020- A new organization is offering critical financial support for existing and new initiatives that bolster health outcomes in Marinette and Menominee Counties. Through a $25-million contribution from Advocate Aurora Health, the Provident Health Foundation was formed earlier this year following Advocate’s assumption of full ownership of the local hospital. John Hofer now serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director and says their mission is two-fold.
Although Provident Health Foundation is a private foundation, Hofer says they don’t intend to run their own programs. Rather, they’re working with other community agencies who’ve already identified the top health needs for the area.
In addition to Hofer’s leadership, the Provident Health Foundation has oversight from a six-member governing board, which has the capacity to as much as double in size. All of the money awarded by the Foundation will benefit programs in Marinette and Menominee Counties. The Foundation made their first donation last month to the Twin Counties Free Clinic.
