One Injured in Semi Accident in Menominee
05/07/2019- A tanker rollover caused some significant traffic problems in Menominee this weekend. The Menominee Police Department says they and several other emergency agencies were dispatched just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon to the intersection of US Highway 41 and M 35 for a semi-truck accident. A tanker, traveling from Canada to Wisconsin, rolled over as it turned from M 35 onto 41. The semi tanker was filled with liquid whey and had an approximate weight of 80000 pounds. A towing company from Escanaba attempted to flip the truck upright but was unsuccessful. The tanker was then emptied of its load on scene, enabling the towing company to flip the semi tanker upright. The 66-year-old male driver of the semi was transported by EMS to Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area. He was later transported to Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
