Opioid Abuse Prevention Gets a Boost in the UP

Grant funding will assist Upper Michigan agencies in their fight against opioid abuse. Over $50-thousand will be awarded to the Upper Peninsula Coalition Network by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation and other partnering organizations. The money is awarded as part of the “Taking Action on Opioid and Prescription Drug Abuse in Michigan by Supporting Community Responses” initiative and will help create new and expand existing drug abuse prevention projects spanning all fifteen counties across the UP. The grant will be officially awarded at a ceremony being held today in Marquette.
