08/19/2019- Another Marinette County Committee has gotten on board with a plan to reorganize some of the county’s existing departments. County Administrator John Lefebvre presented his proposal to move Parks from currently being housed with Forestry to the Facilities Department to the Administrative Committee last week. Along with the move, Lefebvre also wants to create an assistant facilities director position within the Facilities Department who could focus on maintaining and enhancing the county’s parks while also managing other various facilities projects as needed.
Under the move, the parks caretakers, who are currently 10-month seasonal employees would be brought on as permanent employees, working in county buildings during the off- months.
The Administrative Committee approved the reorganization, as has already been done by Infrastructure Committee. The item now moves on to the full County Board for final consideration.
