Plan Commission Approves Initial Requests for Condo Development

05/16/2019- There’s progress in the plans to construct luxury condominiums near the site of the former Marinette Knitting Mills property. Brian Polzin with Polzin Property Management again presented the proposed development to the city’s Plan Commission Wednesday. He says the project will begin with a four-story 17-unit condo building. If and when that is 50% sold, he’d look to start phase 2 of the work, which involves constructing a commercial and residential structure along Pierce Avenue. The final phase would be a second condo building to mirror the first. To do all this, the city needs to amend their 2020 Comprehensive Plan to change the designation for the identified parcels to mixed residential, as well as change their zoning. While there was some hesitation regarding the height of the proposed structures, the Plan Commission did approve both requests. They’ll now be sent to a public hearing and go to vote by the full Common Council.
