September is Preparedness Month in Wisconsin

PreparednessMonth.png

Disasters happen and, when they do it’s important for residents to know how to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. To help encourage everyone to be ready, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has declared September as Preparedness Month in the state, coinciding with the observance of National Preparedness Month. During the past year, the state has seen disasters involving flooding, tornadoes, and heavy snow and ReadyWisconsin is asking everyone to review four key areas during this Preparedness Month. The first is to prepare for a financial disaster, the second is to create or update disaster plans. Third, parents should talk to their children about preparedness, and finally, residents should work collaboratively to prepare their community for a disaster. For more information about these areas or other safety tips, visit readywisconsin.wi.gov.
