10/15/2018- Black Friday is the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season, but many local businesses are gearing up for the day after that. Small Business Saturday falls on the first Saturday following Thanksgiving and, since 2014, businesses in the M&M area have been working together to encourage more people to keep their dollars local. Keith Killen is the owner of Plaza Ace Hardware in Menominee. He says it’s the idea of “community, not competition” that helps small businesses in our area thrive.
Stephenson National Bank and Trust is sponsoring Small Business Saturday. Laura Rowe, Marketing Director with SNBT says while they may not be the first ones that comes to mind when people think about small businesses, local banks play a big part in our area’s economy.
This year’s Small Business Saturday will fall on November 24th. Businesses interested in participating should reserve their spot by this Friday by calling 715-732-6611.
