Time to Change Smoke Detector Batteries
10/31/2018- Residents are being reminded to not only change their clocks this weekend, but the batteries in some crucial home safety devices, as well. Ready Wisconsin says the end of Daylight-Saving Time is a good time to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. When working properly, these tools are often the first alert for the presence of smoke or carbon monoxide in a home. All houses in Wisconsin are required to have detectors on every level, including the basement. Officials say these devices should be tested regularly and replaced every five years. Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday at 2:00 AM.
