Tyco Identifies Contaminants at Stanton Street Facility
Evidence of contamination from chemicals previously used in Tyco’s fire suppression foam are found outside of the company’s original testing zone. The company says groundwater testing was recently conducted at their Staton Street facility in Marinette where the foam was manufactured, and preliminary results indicate the presence of PFAS in those samples, though they have not yet confirmed whether the concentration is above or below the 70-parts-per-trillion health advisory level. Tyco Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications Jim Cox notes they have not yet identified any drinking water wells near the facility and measures are in place to manage and treat groundwater at the Stanton Street location. Tyco is working to develop a plan to further investigate and remediate the issue.
