Update on BAMC Hospital Provided to Council
On-schedule and on-budget: that’s the progress report on the new $135-million hospital Bay Area Medical Center is building in Marinette.
BAMC President and CEO Ed Harding updated the City Council Tuesday. He says construction is expected to be complete in early June and the target opening date is August 16th.
The hospital stands on a 90-acre site along University Drive and will feature all private patient rooms, a ten-bed ICU, and a regional cancer center. Harding says hospital staff had the chance to walk through models of patient rooms before any of the construction was complete.
Public open house events will be held at the new hospital the week of July 17th. An official ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for July 19th.
