WPS Foundation Awards Innovative Educator Grants to Local Districts
02/22/2019- Nearly two dozen area teachers will get new tools to enhance critical student skills thanks to the more than $20000 provided by the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation through its Innovative Educator Grants. The WPS Foundation offers these grants to help 6th through 12th grade teachers fund projects or initiatives that enhance science, technology, engineering and math learning in their classrooms. Some of the 23 projects being funded this year include initiatives at Crivitz Middle School, Goodman-Armstrong Creek Middle/High School, Menominee Junior High, and Wausaukee High School. To receive a grant, teachers must work at a school within the WPS service area and must demonstrate their project is a well-planned, integrated effort to improve STEM learning. Initiatives that receive a grant often assist students in multiple classes, and in some cases benefit an entire school.
