YESTERDAY WAS NATIONAL SIGNING DAY FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ACROSS AMERICA AND TWO MENOMINEE HIGH SCHOOL LINEBACKERS SIGNED LETTERS OF INTENT TO PLAY FOOTBALL AT MICHIGAN TECH IN HOUGHTON. JASON JANQUART AND JACOB RIVARD WILL BOTH BE PLAYING AT THE NEXT LEVEL. THE TWO WERE CAPTAINS AND CO-MVP’S FOR THE MAROONS THIS PAST SEASON.

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING LAST NIGHT
IRON MOUNTAIN EDGED MENOMINEE 34-28 AT THE DIVISION 3 TEAM DISTRICTS HELD AT IRON MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL. IRON MOUNTAIN DEFEATED KINGSFORD 39-24 FOR A THIRD STRAIGHT DISTRICT TITLE. THE INDIVIDUAL DISTRICTS ARE SET FOR NEXT WEEK.

WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
BAY COLLEGE 62 UW-MARINETTE 47 KAITLYN KUFFEL HAD 13 POINTS AND TORI WANGERIN 11 FOR THE LADY BUCS. JORDAN KRAMER HAD 15 POINTS AND 11 REBOUNDS FOR BAY COLLEGE.

BAY COLLEGE WON THE MENS GAME 83-76. FORMER MENOMINEE HIGH SCHOOL STAND OUT MARCUS MCKENNY HAD 17 POINTS FOR BAY COLLEGE. LEVI KEMPKA, ANOTHER FORMER MAROON, LED THE BUCS WITH 11 POINTS.
