THE MARINETTE BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH FINISHED FIRST AT THE WRIGHTSTOWN TRIANGULAR. THE MARINE BOYS TALLIED 89 POINTS, OCONTO FALLS WAS SECOND WITH 64 POINTS. ALEX SHAW AND CARSON POLOMIS WON MULTIPLE EVENTS FOR MARINETTE.
THE MARINE GIRLS SCORED 70 POINTS, 5 BETTER THAN SECOND PLACE OCONTO FALLS. KAITLYN KITZINGER OF MARINETTE WON THE 16 HUNDRED AND WAS PART OF THE 16 HUNDRED RELAY TEAM THAT FINISHED FIRST.

THE MENOMINEE GIRLS WON A TRIANGULAR AT ESCANABA WITH 73 POINTS, ESCANABA WAS SECOND WITH 64. MAKENZIE WELLNER PACED THE MAROONS WITH A FIRST PLACE FINISH IN THE 100 HURDLES AND 300’S. GLADSTONE WON THE BOYS MEET, MENOMINEE WAS THIRD.

THE PESHTIGO BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH FINISHED SECOND AT A 5 TEAM MEET IN PESHTIGO. KEWAUNEE WON BOTH MEETS.

THE CRIVITZ BOYS AND GIRLS BOTH FINISHED SECOND AT THE SURING INVITATIONAL. BONDUEL WON BOTH MEETS.

THE MARINETTE GIRLS FINISHED FIRST AT THE DENMARK COLD VIKE INVITATIONAL WITH 162 POINTS. WEYAUWEGA-FREMONT WAS A DISTANT SECOND WITH 109.5 POINTS. KAITLYN KITZINGER PACED THE MARINES WITH FIRST PLACE FINISHES IN THE 400 METER DASH AND THE 800 METER RUN.
THE MARINETTE BOYS FINISHED SECOND WITH 123 POINTS. KEWAUNEE WAS FIRST WITH 159.5 POINTS. ALEX SHAW OF MARINETTE WON THE 100 METER AND 200 METER DASHES. JEREMY WENDT WON THE 110 METER HURDLES AND CARSON POLOMIS FINISHED FIRST IN THE TWO MILE RUN.

MENOMINEE NATIVE CHRIS HOFER IS RETIRING AS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT KINGSFORD HIGH SCHOOL AFTER 31 SEASONS. HOFER, THE SON OF MENOMINEE HALL OF FAME COACH KEN HOFER, COMPILED A 253-94 RECORD WITH THE FLIVVERS INCLUDING A CLASS B STATE TITLE IN 1993. HOFERS TEAMS ALSO MADE IT TO THE STATE TITLE GAME THREE OTHER TIMES IN THE 90’S. ON MAY 11TH, CHRIS WILL JOIN HIS FATHER AS A MEMBER OF THE U.P. SPORTS HALL OF FAME.
