More local teens are getting back on the right track thanks to Marinette County’s Teen Court program. Tuesday, Lisa Devine-Barribeau, Teen Court Coordinator, gave an overview of the program’s 2017 activity to the county’s Agricultural and Extension Education Committee. 17 new cases were addressed last year, with the majority of participants falling in the 15- and 16-year-old age groups.
Teen Court participants completed around 126 community service hours in 2017. Teen Court is made up of high schoolers from throughout Marinette County who determine an appropriate sentence for a teenager who has committed a first-time misdemeanor offense.
