04/07/2020- A third confirmed case of the novel coronavirus has been reported in Marinette County. That update from the Wisconsin DHS yesterday afternoon. More than 120 people in the county have been tested for COVID-19 and of those, 105 have come back negative. However, Marinette County Public Health is reminding residents that laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 likely only account for approximately 10% of the cases that are actually circulating. They say this is why social distancing and isolation remain vitally important, even if a person is not exhibiting symptoms of the virus. No deaths from the coronavirus have been reported locally, but a Republic, Michigan, man who tested positive for COVID-19 last month died Sunday at UP Health System in Marquette. An adult male in Dickinson County also reportedly died from the virus last Thursday.
