Some funny money has been popping up locally. According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, complaints of counterfeit bills have been received in Delta and Menominee Counties The bills have been discovered by store clerks and have a noticeably different feel than real money. Officials say the phonies have been mostly twenty- and fifty-dollar bills, but five-, ten-, and one-hundred-dollar bills have also been received. The counterfeit money does not pass the ink pen test or contain security ribbons. Anyone who suspects they may have received some of these bills is asked to contact local law enforcement.
