09/20/2019- An announcement by Governor Tony Evers will maintain the current staffing level in the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office. Governor Evers authorized over 60 new assistant district attorney positions throughout Wisconsin this week. These positions were allocated throughout the state based on requests made by the county district attorneys, with 56 Wisconsin counties receiving a total of 64.95 new positions. While Marinette County won’t see any additional staff come on board, the funding does preserve the office’s third attorney at a full-time level. Previously, that position was set to be reduced to part-time at the end of 2019. This new allocation is the largest state investment in the district attorney program in the state’s history.
