Wisconsin’s spring primaries are just weeks away and voters will once again need to present a valid ID in order to cast their ballot. The state’s DOT Division of Motor Vehicles says the most common forms of identification are a driver license or military or student ID card. However, voters without these can obtain a free Wisconsin ID and, if the documents required for the ID are not readily available, can receive a valid receipt to take to the polls for voting purposes through the Voter ID Petition Process. A list of necessary documents to apply for and more information about the Wisconsin ID are available online at wisconsindmv.gov
