10/03/2019- Science, technology, engineering and math skills are among the most versatile and valuable students can learn these days. That’s why the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is helping area teachers bolster these lessons by providing them up to $1,000 each through its Innovative Educator Grants. The money can be used to purchase equipment or materials that improve STEM education, fund field trips that enhance classroom lessons and concepts, or assist teachers in providing hands-on projects that otherwise might not be funded. Winners of the 2018-2019 Innovative Educator Grant cycle included teachers in the Crivitz, Menominee, and Wausaukee School Districts. To qualify for a grant, teachers must work at a school within the WPS service area. Applications can be found on the WPS website and are open through October 31st. Since the grant’s inception, more than $185,000 has been donated by the WPS Foundation to fund over 200 STEM projects.
