The Marinette School Board will once again seek reapportionment. The board previously failed to collect the appropriate number of signatures necessary to place the question of transitioning to all at-large members on April’s ballot. Tuesday, members revisited the topic and agreed it is still something they want to pursue. Signatures will now be collected beginning late this summer through the fall in order to be verified and submitted to the county clerk by the January 22nd deadline. If enough support is received, the issue will go to vote in the Spring 2019 election. The school board is currently composed of seven city residents and two rural members.
