04/02/2020- Officials in Oconto County are asking part-time residents who may be thinking about traveling to the area to stay put for now. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oconto County Health Officer has issued a Travel Advisory and is recommending that those with second or seasonal homes within the County refrain from traveling to those properties due to the limited healthcare infrastructure available within the County and increased risk of community-to-community spread. Oconto County has a high percentage of older adults and vulnerable population and these high-risk groups are one of the county’s priority groups that need protection to keep Oconto County healthy. Those who have already arrived in Oconto County from outside the region are encouraged to self-quarantine for at least 14 days to help stop potential spread of the coronavirus.
