One Man Dies in Menominee County Crash, Driver in Custody
10/25/2019- A Stephenson, Michigan man is facing criminal charges following a three-vehicle accident in Menominee County Monday that killed one person. Deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of County Roads 356 and 577 around 1:30 p.m. It’s believed the Stephenson man failed to stop for the stop sign there and caused the collision between his vehicle and those driven by 36-year-old Croy Smith of Niagara and 59-year-old Perry Kelly of Daggett. A passenger in one of those cars, 29-year-old Derek Bryant of Vulcan, was ejected and died from the injuries he sustained. The driver from Stephenson, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs causing death. Due to his own serious injuries, he remains in custody at a medical facility.
