05/01/2019- The seven UP Michigan State Police posts keep hundreds of pounds of unused medication from being misused or improperly thrown away. The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies during last weekend’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible venue for disposing of unwanted and unused prescription drugs and, in total, the posts collected nearly 340 pounds of medication. Those who were unable to participate in Drug Take-Back Day in the UP can still anonymously surrender medications for proper disposal free of charge at any MSP post weekdays from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
