WPS Issuing Refunds for 2018 Overages
08/23/2019- Your utility bill might actually be something to look forward to this fall. Wisconsin Public Service says its customers will see refunds issued on their September or October statements because of lower-than-anticipated fuel costs last year. The company is returning about $7-million in overages. Refunds will vary from customer to customer depending on the amount of electricity used in September, but the refund will be a credit of 9/10 of a cent per kilowatt hour. The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin sets fuel rates one year in advance and if those projections are more than 2%above the actual fuel cost, the company is required to refund the difference to consumers with interest.
